Hi Parents/Guardians,
As mentioned before, our meet and greet is June 6th. June 8th will be everyone at the fields for a practice where you’ll get to know your team, get familiar with the fields and get yourself back into the “soccer mindset”. Parents/Guardians/Spectators, that will be a good time to learn where you can and should not sit, along with how close. We count on you to be respectful if we kindly ask you to either back up a little or ask you to relocate. We understand you want to see it all but safety first! Start of practice/games will be the following Tuesday (June 13th) and every Tuesday and Thursday after that until our year end festival/tournament on Saturday Aug 12th.

This is a reminder to make sure you have everything you need, that you get familiar with the rules and regulations and most of all, that you are ready to create some memories! You can access the Rules and Regulations on our website: www.nickelcentresoccer.ca

Thank you for your patience over the last few months and Thank you for registering! You made this summer season possible too!

**A reminder that we are volunteers with families of our own, with regular jobs and we do this for the children's enjoyment! We appreciate your understanding and patience.**

Hi Parents/Guardians,

Registration are still open for Active Start U7 and U14.
For you U10 you need to email us to be added to the list. Once we get enough players to make a team and a secure a sponsor for that team we’ll email back with a time to register. So far it’s promising!

Please copy the following URL into your internet browser to access our registration site:
https://nickelcentresoccer.sportngin.com/register/form/333204751

We still are looking for coaches, co-coaches or assistant coaches for all divisions. We understand some might not want to coach since they plan on taking vacations during a week or two. That’s why we try to have an assistant coach for each team. And if your team doesn’t have an assistant coach you can try asking a parent on your team if they can help out. Working as a team isn’t just for on the field! 😝 And after all these steps, if you still haven’t found a replacement, you can email the board and we’ll figure something out for you. Again, we do this for the kids!

Have suggestions?! Email us! We are always looking for ways to improve. I can’t stress this enough… we do this for the kids! ⚽️

Hi Parents/Guardians,

⚠️ATTENTION ⚠️

❗️DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REGISTER YOUR KIDS IN U10 DIVISION ❗️

If your child(ren) are born in the year 2013, 2014 & 2015 (U10 Division), Please email [email protected] with the following info:
-Name of your child(ren)
-Year of birth
-best email to email you at
-best phone number to reach you at if email isn’t answered in a timely manner.

We will compile a list of interested names. We understand some might have children in different Divisions and will prefer registering them all at once. Please keep in mind that we operate as a first come first serve basis and registering guarantees your child a spot, until our limit is reached. We hope that we will have enough player to make another team, but please understand that we also need to find a sponsor for that team. In anticipation of this event we've already started the search for more sponsors.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. It is a bittersweet moment for us. We our doing our best to allow as many kids to play the beautiful sport that is soccer this summer!

Hi Parents/Guardians,

Just a reminder that shin pads and soccer cleats are mandatory. So make sure to get those before it's too late. You'll also need to purchase a soccer ball, see chart below.

Soccer Ball size chart:
Active Start & U7: Size 3
U10: Size 4 (preferred) or size 5
U14: Size 5

Things you should also get: A water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray.

We need your help! We still need coaches for Active Start, U7 and U14. We also need assistant coaches for all age groups. Those interested can email [email protected] or send us a message via Facebook.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

❗️REGISTRATIONS WILL NOW END May 15th!❗️

Due to logistical reasons we have to end registrations earlier then previously announced! We needed to give ourselves more time ⏳ to create fair teams, order jerseys on time for the start of season and organize the meet and greet before the start of season. Therefore, registrations will now end May15th! We want everyone to have enough time to register so we are letting you know ASAP!

Hi Parents/Guardians,

Here's an update on registrations. Thank you to everyone for registering your child(ren) with our club. Things are looking good. We wish we could have every child out on the fields this summer, unfortunately, we had to put a limit on registrations.

We operate on a first come first serve basis, and we have one age group that is nearing the said limit. In good faith, we thought it'd be best to warn everyone not to wait until the last minute to register. We understand that some circumstances can arise and not everyone can register right away.

Once the limit has been reached we'll make a list (again on a first come first serve basis) and if we can manage to have enough names to add a full team and if we can manage to find a sponsor for that team then we'll let those on the list proceed to registration. Our goal is to let as many children play soccer this summer. The final decision will be done by the board who oversees all logistical aspects of the club.
Thank you for your support, your patience, and understanding.

Hi Parents/Guardians,

Due to the many requests we have received we thought here would be a good place to make people aware of where we stand towards same team requests.

We only do same team requests for members of the same household. We understand that playing on a friends team is always more fun and we wish would could make it possible for everyone but unfortunately we can’t. Our goal is to make teams as fair as possible to make everyone’s experience as enjoyable as possible. Plus the logistics alone is quite the headache.

Who knows though, odds might be in your favour and your child might end up with their friend anyway! If not, then they’ll make new ones! Win-win! Plus, isn’t it just as fun to win against your friends then to play with them? Haha.

Want to raise the odds of your child being on their friends team? Why not coach a team? We always need coaches and assistant coaches! We make sure you’re with your child’s team and the rest is decided based on fairness to the best of our knowledge. If you want to way in on those decisions feel free to join our board!

If interested, we’ll do our best to make you feels as comfortable as possible in the position. We plan to organize a “coach clinic” once registrations are over.

If you have questions please email [email protected]
Enjoy your day!

Hi Parents,

Do you have teens wanting to learn a new skill and get paid for it? We have just the thing. You can get qualified as a referee. It’s a skill that you can progress with. All you need to do is create an account, choose the qualification you would like, and begin the process. Yes, there is a small fee but by referring games you will get paid $$$

Please copy the following URL into your internet browser to access the referee registration site: https://www.refcenter.com/

If you should have any questions please contact Ian at: [email protected] & [email protected]

Volunteering. Do you have any teens that need their volunteer hours for school? You're in luck. We are looking for people to help with different things, such as guiding the Timbits games (with the help of an adult) or helping the coaches.

Should you want to volunteer, you can either send a personal message on Facebook Messenger or email at:
[email protected]

Thanks in advance, and we look forward to seeing you all out on the fields!!

Hi Parents/Guardians,
Have you had a chance to go check out our website? nickelcentresoccer.ca
We recently updated it and we hope it might help answer questions you had and inform you in general!
Here, below, is something taken from our Rules and Regulations tab and also found in the FAQ tab. We thought to let you know in advance for you to be aware and prevent some decision that might have an unfortunate outcome. For example, you decide to let your child get their ear pierced just before the season starts but when you show up on the field, you are then told that your child needs to remove them.

SAFETY FIRST!!!!!
Player Rules:
-All players need to wear shin pads when playing soccer, it is mandatory.
-Socks should be worn on top of shin pads. If it is uncomfortable for your child we suggest wearing a pair of sock under the shin pads as well as the one on top.
-Players cannot wear hats, glasses, sunglasses or jewelry accessories (necklaces, piercings, hair clips) while on the field.
-All players should come prepared with a bottle of water that properly closes and sunscreen.
-Soccer cleats are mandatory.
-Absolutely no food on the bench area. If players need to have a snack for health purposes, please communicate with your coach and once agreed upon they could have at most a light snack during the halftime break away from the bench.
-Only water and sports drinks such as: Gatorade and Powerade are allowed at the bench in a bottle that closes properly.
Regulations:
We follow the City of Greater Sudbury Fair Play Code of Conduct. https://www.greatersudbury.ca/play/arenas/policies/
ATTENTION Parents/Guardians/Spectators!!!!!
Parents/Guardians/Spectators Rules:
-Parents/Guardians/Spectators are to be seated NO CLOSER then 5ft (1.5m) away from the soccer field outside lines and soccer nets. This is a safety issue since balls often go out of play and players must be able to stand comfortably to either throw or kick the ball back in play.
-Also, Parents/Guardians/Spectators are to be seated on the opposite side of their teams bench and if seating on the other side isn't possible due to the 5ft rule mentioned above then you are expected to sit at either ends of the fields behind the goaltenders nets.
-Please pick up your garbage and dispose of it in the garbage containers provided by the City of Greater Sudbury. This is to reduce the risk of having forest animals big or small come in the area.
